  New York City is itself a great inspiration for any type of designer, and it certainly suited Gara Post, a jewelry designer from the city. She fell in love with the vintage jewelry there, which she found in a variety of flea markets and shops throughout Manhattan. Later on in her life, her design aesthetic was softened a bit by a move to sunny Los Angeles. It was somewhere around then that the jewelry designer made the decision to launch funky, fun Gara Daniel, which fuses the eclectic style of New York City with the relaxed natural beauty of Los Angeles.

  One of the products of that is the Swirled Believe Inspiration Ring in 14k rose gold. The ring is three quarters of an inch wide and features intertwining letters which swirl and curve around the finger of the wearer. The message? “Believe.”

  If there is one jewelry brand that I trust myself with, it has got to be Hidalgo Jewelry.  This jewelry brand first started out in 1984 however the family that is behind Hidalgo Jewelry has been working with jewelry for much, much longer than that.  One of the main focuses of Hidalgo Jewelry is the fact that they want to make sure to come out with jewelry that is different, unique and refreshing – that is how I would describe each and every piece.

  Hidalgo Jewelry has designed and created more than three thousand different ring styles and to be honest … that is amazing!  I do not think that there is any other jewelry brand that has created that many rings and the combinations of gemstones that they use is incredible!

  Another great thing about Hidalgo Jewelry is their bracelets!  Personally, I am a huge fan of bracelets and to have such a variety is fantastic!

• Tori Spelling’s Take on Jewelry

  If you are any kind of reality TV junkie, then you are probably well aware that Tori Spelling has gone from 90210’s favorite virgin to the queen of TV movies to, finally, mother, wife, reality star, and … jewelry designer?  As it so happens, yes, she is designing jewelry these days, along with Mehran, one of her very closest friends (or so I gathered from her first book, thank you very much).

  The question is, is her jewelry any good?  Would you want to wear it?  Well, it has to be said that Ms. Spelling’s (also known as Mrs. McDermott’s) jewelry line, available primarily through the Home Shopping Network, is pretty cool.

  I really like this particular piece, the Simulated Pearl and Black Enamel Necklace. It features dangling accents of branches and petals with a gold toned chain and black satin ribbon.
