  Now that we have touched on colored diamonds, let’s go ahead and talk about some of the other trends that are going to unfold in 2010 and one of them is actually white gold diamond necklaces.

  Necklaces in general are a fantastic way to tie together an outfit and to truly make a fashion statement and honest, I think that white gold is definitely the best out of all of the metals out there.  If you are a blonde, white gold is actually a better option for you, as it will not wash you out at all.

  Now that you know some of the trends that are coming up for 2010, make sure that you take advantage of them!  These trends are absolutely fantastic and will help you make all of those fashion statements!

  In this blog, we have gone over a bunch of different jewelry pieces and we have gone over a bunch of different trends in jewelry but have we touched on 2010 trends?  Not yet!  That is what we are going to do in the next couple blogs, so that way you can make sure that you are aware of all of the trends in jewelry coming down the pipeline.

  This year is going to be the biggest year for colored diamonds.  In the past, diamonds were things that were colorless, but now – colored diamonds are making a huge statement and I can tell you for sure that I love this particular trend!  Not only are they beautiful but they can truly go with any outfit.

  However – one thing to be aware of whenever you are looking to purchase some colored diamonds is the fact that these diamonds are extremely expensive – so make sure you are ready to flip the bill!

  Earrings are something that while we might not feature them a lot in this blog, they are certainly an important part of our outfit.  Honestly, how many times have you picked out an outfit and have had to change it because of the earrings that you were wearing? 

  I know I have done it a whole lot, however, with David Yurman Diamond Earrings, I would think that you would not have to change your outfit, for these beauties go with anything!

  It is truly an occasion when you come across a jewelry designer who is innovative, elegant, one of a kind, and clearly talented. The Atelier of Orlando encompasses all of those traits and more. The Atelier exists in an old convent located in the hills of beautiful Chianti, which also houses the home of Orlando, his wife, and sons — not to mention Orlandini.

  Ancient techniques are used in the making of this jewelry, created by both Orlando and son Paladino, and it most definitely shows.

  We can all agree that, in jewelry right now, platinum is where it is at, most definitely. However, all the same, a lot of designers are turning to silver collections instead. Chad Allison is being truly one of a kind and going a completely different route. The company has never tackled a platinum collection before — until now.

  Prominently featured in this perfectly fabulous platinum collection are some of the most gorgeous bridal designs you will ever hope to see, some of which are going for only a little over two thousand dollars, which are a real steal.

  Naturally, all of the designs featured in Chad Allison’s platinum collection are wonderfully dramatic, even decadent in some cases — as with these to die for chandelier earrings, which promise to call red carpet attention to your earlobes — but only if you can afford the retail price of $9,425, the cost of these carat and a half beauties.

• Ritani Anadare: Hearts Entwined

  Every once in a while, a jewelry designer comes along with a philosophy and a design aesthetic so beautiful, so romantic, so utterly and unquestionably exquisite, it just makes you fall in love with his or her pieces even more. That is how it goes with Ritani Anadare, who recently launched a brand new collection devoted to engagement rings, a couple of which you can see to the right.

  As you can see, these engagement rings prominently showcase a leitmotif of twists — that motif is very much on purpose. Some of the pieces are made of polished gold, or white gold as the case may be, and some of them are even made of diamonds. However, the makings of the twists are less important than the meaning behind them.

  Tim Spanjer, speaking for Ritani, has been quoting as explaining the twists thusly: “The twist is the human genome, the double helix of DNA. It’s two hearts intertwining and becoming one.”

  With a philosophy like that, what couple would not want to go with one of these stunning rings?

• A Necklace Fit for an Elvish Princess

  You’ll have to forgive the somewhat whimsical title.  I have to admit, I’m something of an LOTR case.  I confess, I love it — books and movies, characters and settings.  So, although I just wrote on one Van Cleef & Arpels design, as soon as I saw this, I just didn’t have a choice.  What am I talking about?  Oh, just this:

  

  This is the Van Cleef & Arpels Virevolte Necklace.  The moment I scrolled through the catalog on the site and saw this, I couldn’t help but think that this necklace would be suited for Arwen and/or Galadriel.  The delicate leaves will, in fact, add a touch of whimsy and mystery to any woman who wears it.

  I have to confess, I’m beginning to fall in love with Van Cleef and Arpels, big time.  I haven’t been struck by a designer so quickly in a long time.  Specifically, its the design aesthetic that gets me.  It’s so unique, while the craftsmanship is just exquisite.

  The intricacy, the design, the set of the jewels — it is stunning, just stunning.  It is the most exquisite thing I have ever seen, and the way the necklace is worn is unquestionably unique.
