ritani_anadareEvery once in a while, a jewelry designer comes along with a philosophy and a design aesthetic so beautiful, so romantic, so utterly and unquestionably exquisite, it just makes you fall in love with his or her pieces even more. That is how it goes with Ritani Anadare, who recently launched a brand new collection devoted to engagement rings, a couple of which you can see to the right.

As you can see, these engagement rings prominently showcase a leitmotif of twists — that motif is very much on purpose. Some of the pieces are made of polished gold, or white gold as the case may be, and some of them are even made of diamonds. However, the makings of the twists are less important than the meaning behind them.

Tim Spanjer, speaking for Ritani, has been quoting as explaining the twists thusly: “The twist is the human genome, the double helix of DNA. It’s two hearts intertwining and becoming one.”

With a philosophy like that, what couple would not want to go with one of these stunning rings?

hersheys-kissWhat could be better than diamonds and chocolate? Ask any woman in the world if she can think of anything that could top that, and you may have finally asked an unanswerable question.

Behold, Hershey’s Kiss Jewelry, a collection which is one hundred percent licensed by Hershey, everyone’s favorite brand of chocolate, and launched by World Trade Jewelers. What you see here is the star of an already dazzling collection, a Hershey’s Kiss pendant comprised of gorgeous pave diamonds and white gold. A variety of white gold and diamond pieces will be available in a number of different sizes. The suggested retail prices will range from less than five hundred dollars to less than eight thousand dollars — $499 through $7,999, to be exact.

There is no way an idea like this could possibly lose. We expect it will be an especially huge hit during Valentine’s day.

You’ll have to forgive the somewhat whimsical title.  I have to admit, I’m something of an LOTR case.  I confess, I love it — books and movies, characters and settings.  So, although I just wrote on one Van Cleef & Arpels design, as soon as I saw this, I just didn’t have a choice.  What am I talking about?  Oh, just this:

    virevolte-necklace

This is the Van Cleef & Arpels Virevolte Necklace.  The moment I scrolled through the catalog on the site and saw this, I couldn’t help but think that this necklace would be suited for Arwen and/or Galadriel.  The delicate leaves will, in fact, add a touch of whimsy and mystery to any woman who wears it.

I have to confess, I’m beginning to fall in love with Van Cleef and Arpels, big time.  I haven’t been struck by a designer so quickly in a long time.  Specifically, its the design aesthetic that gets me.  It’s so unique, while the craftsmanship is just exquisite.

I am about to show you what may well be the most beautiful ruby and diamond necklace in all of creation.  The rubies are the star of the show in the piece I am about to show you.  For those of you who have heart conditions, I wouldn’t be at all responsible if I didn’t tell you to please be careful, because honestly — you are about to have your breath completely stolen:

    envol-necklace

This is the Envol Necklace fromVan Cleef & Arpels.  You know, it’s funny.  Before today, while browsing a jewelry web site, I had never before heard of Van Cleef & Arpels.  To be perfectly honest, I now mourn all the years I lost, all the pieces I’ve missed admiring, because this label is undoubtedly one of the most talented I have ever seen.  All of their collections are full of pieces like this.

The intricacy, the design, the set of the jewels — it is stunning, just stunning.  It is the most exquisite thing I have ever seen, and the way the necklace is worn is unquestionably unique.

Recently, I went to a jewelry party, Cookie Lee was the jewelry merchant and honestly, until a couple weeks ago, I had no idea what Cookie Lee was and then I ended up purchasing a few of their pieces and I have to say that I am super impressed with Cookie Lee!  Now, for those of you that do not know exactly what Cookie Lee is, it’s sort of like Mary Kay, but for jewelry!

You get to purchase the pieces and then just like Mary Kay, you get people to hold jewelry parties for their friends and hopefully you can churn a profit.  Personally, I think that my Cookie Lee lady was a little too pushy but it worked!  She got me to buy too much jewelry but in the end, I was pretty happy with it!

If you are looking to get yourself into Cookie Lee, go ahead and log onto google and do a quick search, I promise that you will find all sorts of ways to sign up and definitely some tips and tricks on how to get in the business.  Or heck, leave me a few comments!  I’d love to know more about Cookie Lee!

When it comes to cuff bracelets, I have always been a huge fan of them.  Not only are cuff bracelets all of the fuss this season but Chanel is all of the fuss this season.  So what do you get when you combine two of the main events in 2009?  Well, you get this beautiful Chanel cuff that honestly, would look good on anyone and everyone!

Not only is the attention to detail on this beautiful piece impeccable, but I have to say that I love the Chanel logo.  Personally, I am not a use fan of the Chanel logo, but when I see it encrusted with diamonds on one of my favorite types of bracelets?  It definitely changed my opinion!

Now you know, if Chanel is coming out with jewelry, it isn’t going to be cheap, so if you have to be prepared to pay quite the price for this beauty, but isn’t it worth it?  Especially with Valentine’s Day coming up!

So I know all about the million dollar bra, I know there is some luxury bras out there, but I never thought I would be seeing a bra that is completely made out of black diamonds, white diamonds and rubies!  This bra is definitely one for the books folks and if only we could all have this beautiful bra.  This lovely and beautiful invention belongs to Victoria Secret (of course!) and it is their new Fantasy Bra!

So how many jewels are really in this thing?  Well, first, this bra was created for Victoria Secret by Martin Katz and it is set with 3,575 black diamonds, 117 one carat white diamonds and 34 rubies.  Now do you think that’s enough?  We did, but he added two huge black diamonds that swing from the bottom, both of them are fifty carats each.

So how much is this beautiful bra?  Well, if you have five million dollars it is yours!  Forget about the million dollar bra, that is not even worth it anymore, this five million dollar bra is going to be the new hot item!

Here is an interesting news item about the second largest diamond in the world that has been worn and owned by royalty and whose complete history remains locked in mystery and speculation. Called the Wittelsbach Blue Diamond after the House of Wittelsbach, a European royal family from Bavaria, the thirty-five point fifty-six carat diamond is second in size to the infamous Hope diamond displayed in the US Smithsonian Institution. Having been documented as owned by at least three royal dynasties, its history cannot be entirely chronicled as no one really knows where the diamond has been for years. Surprisingly, however, it has now shown up to be auctioned by Christie’s of London in December. And of course, the seller or owner of the blue diamond is anonymous, keeping the last eighty years of possession shrouded in mystery.

Expected to garner in the neighborhood of nine million pounds, Christie’s has issued a photograph of the Wittelsbach Blue Diamond being held by a white gloved hand. The price expected seems rather low compared with other recently auctioned diamonds with far less notoriety and given the fact that diamonds are a good investment in a poor economy. Regardless of the end price, the auction will surely receive plenty of attention.

Chocolate is sinful, decadent and delicious! And now it is available in jewellery. Not to eat, mind you, but sumptuous gems. All carats and cuts of diamonds, created with the rich color of chocolate, are as luxurious as the word chocolate implies.

While chocolate gemstones are available at many online jewellery sites, the leading authority and purveyor of chocolate diamonds is LE VIAN, a family with five hundred years of jewellery experience, and one who presently focuses on collecting rare, naturally colored diamonds. All of their stones are taken from one mine in Australia called Argyle. Not surprising, considering the company’s history and expertise, it appears as though LE VIAN owns the trademarks to Chocolate Diamonds and Chocolate Pearls.
