fallon-thread-chokerChokers are no longer a throwback to the 1990s, and if you need the proof, just check out this Thread Choker from Dana Lorenza’s increasingly popular Fallon line. Lorenza has worked for such fabulous fashion lines as Donna Karan and Gucci, then went on to launch her own line, Fenton, back in 2005. Fallon has been around since 2007 and it is still making waves, thanks to Lorenza’s aesthetic.

It mixes trendy pieces which make strong statements with classic and elegant accents and gems, making for one of a kind designs — as you can clearly see here. After all, there are definitely reasons for her pieces being featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, The New York Times, and Lucky.

The choker is made with a beautiful antique bronze thread and it is accented with two stunning strands of translucent rhinestones. It is eighteen inches and typically available for only $220.

You’ll have to forgive the somewhat whimsical title.  I have to admit, I’m something of an LOTR case.  I confess, I love it — books and movies, characters and settings.  So, although I just wrote on one Van Cleef & Arpels design, as soon as I saw this, I just didn’t have a choice.  What am I talking about?  Oh, just this:

    virevolte-necklace

This is the Van Cleef & Arpels Virevolte Necklace.  The moment I scrolled through the catalog on the site and saw this, I couldn’t help but think that this necklace would be suited for Arwen and/or Galadriel.  The delicate leaves will, in fact, add a touch of whimsy and mystery to any woman who wears it.

I have to confess, I’m beginning to fall in love with Van Cleef and Arpels, big time.  I haven’t been struck by a designer so quickly in a long time.  Specifically, its the design aesthetic that gets me.  It’s so unique, while the craftsmanship is just exquisite.

It has been said that Mikimoto, avante garde jewelry designer, once claimed his goal was to make sure that every single woman in the world wore pearls at her throat.  With his innovative, down right breathtaking designs, he is certainly tempting all of us to help him reach his goal.

You have to be careful when purchasing pearls.  You want them to be of the highest quality; you want your pearl jewelry to be original, elegant, but wholly uniquely beautiful as well.  Take a look at the necklace below:

three-pearl-drop-pendantMikimoto’s Three Pearl Drop pendant certainly fills that order — and then some.  The pearls are cultured Tahitian pearls in eight millimeters, eight and a half millimeters, and nine millimeters respectively.  The chain is white gold.  The pearls are unquestionably gorgeous.  The design is unquestionably both innovative and elegant.  This is a breathtaking piece of jewelry, and at $2,200.00 in Mikimoto’s own online store, it is worth every penny.

One thing that I have to say about the jewelry market is going to be that while it is constantly changing, constantly updating and constantly trying to come up with new things, there are still some things that are just timeless and classic and one of them happens to be the drop necklace.  This amazing necklace is honestly one of the sexiest pieces of jewelry in the world.

Not only does a drop necklace look amazing on any neck, but really think about it, a woman shows up to a date in her amazing little black dress and on her neck, plunging downward is a drop necklace.  Think about amazing that would look, not only would she feel beautiful, but the necklace will become the focal point of her entire outfit and it will look amazing.

So the next time you are in the market for an anniversary gift, birthday gift or Christmas gift, get her something that she will not only love, but look incredible in as well.
