• The Most Original Ring You May Ever See

  So honestly, guys, let’s get down to some serious jewelry talk, why don’t we?

  I have reviewed a lot of pieces of jewelry since I began writing for this blog, and I have never, ever seen a piece quite like this one — nor have I come across any piece of jewelry that has struck me in quite the same way.

  This is the Bijules Curved Bar Ring, from Bijules NYC Jewelry. This particular jewelry company is well known for producing incredibly unique, one of a kind pieces, and with this ring, it is easy to see why it came by that reputation.

  Classified as a variation on a them, the ring circles only one finger but it slopes and curves over the wearer’s entire hand. It is like a stylish interpretation of brass knuckles — definitely a piece for someone with the killer instinct!

  I have fallen in love. Mauri Pioppi began as a professional dancer, and I for one think you can see that grace and elegance in her jewelry designs. How did she get to that point? Well, dancing led her to yoga, for its restorative help, and from there she began to work as a yoga instructor. She says that her practice afforded her a vision, which led her to the art of jewelry design — and she is fantastic at it, quickly becoming extremely respected for her talent.

  Out of her visions came the piece I love most, the Avatar Sun Moon Ring. It is said that avatars are able to ultimately transcend both time and space, and that they resonate within us so that we will reach our potential. Perhaps wearing this ring can help us do that.

  So … cocktail rings are enormously popular right now, right? And Juicy Couture is one of the hottest lines out there, as well. What happens, then, when you find a Juicy Couture cocktail ring?

  Though Juicy Couture is classified as casual, there is no denying the fact that it is quite edgy as well, especially in terms of the pieces you can find in the label’s jewelry line. Maybe this has a little something to do with the fact that Juicy Couture is now owned by Liz Claiborne.

  This is the Juicy Couture Filigree Ring. I would give my left arm to have it; that still leaves five possible fingers on my right hand for display.

  Naturally the ring features gorgeous filigree, along with leaf detailing, rhinestones, and a beautiful resin cabochon. It even have a size adjuster inset within the ring.

  One and three quarters of an inch wide, the ring is available for less than one hundred dollars.

• Let Gara Post Give You a Little Inspiration

  New York City is itself a great inspiration for any type of designer, and it certainly suited Gara Post, a jewelry designer from the city. She fell in love with the vintage jewelry there, which she found in a variety of flea markets and shops throughout Manhattan. Later on in her life, her design aesthetic was softened a bit by a move to sunny Los Angeles. It was somewhere around then that the jewelry designer made the decision to launch funky, fun Gara Daniel, which fuses the eclectic style of New York City with the relaxed natural beauty of Los Angeles.

  One of the products of that is the Swirled Believe Inspiration Ring in 14k rose gold. The ring is three quarters of an inch wide and features intertwining letters which swirl and curve around the finger of the wearer. The message? “Believe.”

• Ritani Anadare: Hearts Entwined

  Every once in a while, a jewelry designer comes along with a philosophy and a design aesthetic so beautiful, so romantic, so utterly and unquestionably exquisite, it just makes you fall in love with his or her pieces even more. That is how it goes with Ritani Anadare, who recently launched a brand new collection devoted to engagement rings, a couple of which you can see to the right.

  As you can see, these engagement rings prominently showcase a leitmotif of twists — that motif is very much on purpose. Some of the pieces are made of polished gold, or white gold as the case may be, and some of them are even made of diamonds. However, the makings of the twists are less important than the meaning behind them.

  Tim Spanjer, speaking for Ritani, has been quoting as explaining the twists thusly: “The twist is the human genome, the double helix of DNA. It’s two hearts intertwining and becoming one.”

  With a philosophy like that, what couple would not want to go with one of these stunning rings?

  Back in the day, a lot of the jewelry that you used to see was initial jewelry.  You know the type, where is has a letter and you are supposed to by the letter that corresponds to the first letter of your name?  Well folks, this amazing jewelry has made a complete come back, only this time, it actually looks freakin’ amazing and very refined instead of hand-made and stupid.

  Take this ring for instance, this is a ring that is from JC Penny and while it may not be a designers ring, it is definitely something that looks stylish, is super personal and would look great on any girlfriend, wife, spouse, mother, daughter or grand daughter!
